Belleville council is backing a new program being organized by the city’s Fire Chief Monique Belair.
In July Chief Belair will start Camp Molly, a four-day program aimed at informing young women between the ages of 15 and 18 about the fire service and the careers that it offers.
Monday council supported a motion to invest $15,000 to advertise Camp Molly on city transit buses in order to help attract candidates to the program.
There will be 30 spaces available.
