“It was all a little bit scary because we didn’t know what to expect in the second year of the pandemic or how that would impact our ability to fundraise. But we did know that we needed to raise as much as we possibly could so that we could respond to the increased needs that we’re seeing across our community.”
Belleville Police Service Inspector Sheri Meeks was the chair of the campaign for the second year in a row.
“For me, being a police officer for the past 25 years, this has been more important to me than ever, giving back to the community and being a part of this, as I’ve seen over the last 25 years the toll and the things that people need in the community and the most vulnerable. And how United Way helps to support all those individuals in our community.”
