Quinte West OPP laid impaired driving charges following a single vehicle accident on Highway 401.
Around 8 p.m. February 11, 2022, police received a report that a vehicle was in the ditch on the westbound 401 at Glen Miller Road and the driver had left the scene on foot.
Officers located the driver running west on the eastbound side of the highway.
Fifty-year-old Michael Raniowski of Belleville is charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration.
The accused, who is scheduled to appear in court later this month, had his licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
