Another month, another record number of homes sold in the Quinte region.
The Quinte & District Association of Realtors reports 252 houses were sold in January, a new record that represents a 40% increase over January of last year.
Association President Valerie Miles says January saw an increase in listings to 313 but most of the inventory was sold quickly because of “insatiably strong” demand.
The average price of a house sold in January was a record $736,000, up 31% from January of 2021.
The benchmark price, the price at which half the houses sold was lower and half higher, was $576,000, also up substantially from the year before.
