The OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit were called in to assist when alleged threats were made at a business in Frankford.
Quinte West OPP say a male was causing a disturbance at the South Trent Street business Saturday afternoon and claimed he had explosives in his possession.
The man was gone when police arrived but was quickly located at an Oxford Street address.
Police set up containment and obtained a warrant to enter the residence.
A taser was used during the arrest of the suspect.
An explosive search was conducted and no evidence of explosives or bomb-making material was located.
Forty-five-year-old Tyson Kimmerly of Quinte West is charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and resist peace officer.
