The site for a new ambulance base in southern-central Hastings County has been selected.
At its meeting on Thursday, Hastings County council approved a location in Stirling-Rawdon that the municipality has donated.
Earlier this year, Paramedic Services undertook a study to determine the most suitable location for a new land ambulance base in the southern-central portion of Hastings County.
The study reviewed response times, availability of serviced land and the cost of acquiring the land. Several municipalities offered to donate land and after an extensive review, it was determined that the Municipality of Stirling-Rawdon was the preferred site.
Stirling-Rawdon has agreed to donate the land provided the county covers all costs associated with the transfer of title. The formal Agreement of Purchase and Sale for the property will start the land transfer process.
