Fire destroyed a home in Alnwick/Haldimand Township Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters responded around 2 o’clock to the house on Dudley Road, east of Grafton.
According to Today’s Northumberland the homeowner escaped safely but it’s unknown if all of the household pets were able to survive.
The owner said the fire started in the fireplace.
