The Trenton Golden Hawks are returning to the ice.
The provincial government announced 500 fans would be allowed to return to recreational facilities, meaning the Golden Hawks can play games again.
They will hit the ice on Friday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. against the Cobourg Cougars.
“This is the news we have been waiting for,” says Director of Operations John McDonald. “Our players and staff have been working quietly in the background in preparation for a return to the ice. Now the work begins on rescheduling games, welcoming our latest additions, and having our fans back into the rink.
“We are thrilled! We have not played a game in a month and we are eager to get going. Not only will it be great to be back on the ice, we are heading into the most exciting part of the season, the drive to the playoffs,” says Coach Peter Goulet.
Fans with season tickets will be guaranteed access to games (must show proof of double vaccination), meaning tickets will be at a premium. Only 500 seats are available for each game until capacity restrictions are increased.
Fans, staff, volunteers will continue to be required to wear masks while inside the arena and are asked to follow physical distancing. Food and drink will be reintroduced within the coming weeks.
The team will announce the rescheduled games as they are finalized.
