The main roof at the King Edward Park Community Centre is going to be replaced.
The Municipality of Brighton has received $410,000 from the provincial government as part of the Community Building Fund.
The Government of Ontario’s Community Building Fund is investing $105 million to support community arts and culture, heritage, tourism, sport, and recreation organizations that are experiencing significant financial pressures due to the COVID–19 pandemic. These organizations support community engagement, tourism, and recreation through a variety of attractions, experiences, programs, events, and activities.
Mayor Brian Ostrander is glad that close working relationships are paying off for the Municipality of Brighton.
“We are pleased that with this funding Brighton will be able to repair our arena roof and allow this facility to be a functional recreational facility for years to come,” Ostrander says.
The project will be tendered and completed in this calendar year.
