Belleville Police arrested a woman for domestic assault Wednesday night.
Officers were called to the east end of the city at approximately 5:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance.
At the scene they spoke with witnesses who told them that a woman had hit her male partner in the face with a closed fist during an altercation.
Police say the man suffered minor injuries and the woman was arrested and charged with domestic assault.
The accused is set to appear in court on February 14.
To protect the identity of the victim the name of the accused is not being released.
