The Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN), along with Rogers Communications, has announced the network has been expanded to reach more residents as of today.
Eight communities in eastern Ontario, including Kingston, Lindsay, Picton, Cobourg and Port Hope, are now a part of the 5G network.
This expansion is part of a $300 million public-private partnership between Rogers, the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and EORN to bridge the digital divide and bring reliable wireless connectivity across Eastern Ontario.
By 2025, mobile connectivity to 113 municipalities and Indigenous communities will be achieved by building more than 300 new cell towers and upgrading over 300 pre-existing sites.
