Quinte West OPP have laid charges against one person following an investigation into a stolen vehicle in Trenton.
Just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on College Street.
About an hour later, officers located the stolen vehicle at a gas station on County Road 2 in Trenton.
Police arrested the suspect inside the business.
Thirty-seven-year-old Stephen Schoenmaker of no fixed address is charged with theft of a motor vehicle over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and drive while suspended.
He was released from custody on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 3, 2022.
