Three men from the Toronto area are facing charges after a brief pursuit involving the Lennox and Addington OPP.
At 3 a.m. Sunday, police responded to reports of a vehicle said to be involved in an earlier car jacking in Peel Region, travelling east on Highway 401 near Napanee.
Police saw the vehicle going east as it entered Lennox and Addington and attempted to stop it but the driver did not stop and exited the highway at Shannonville Road.
Shortly after, the vehicle got back on the highway and one suspect exited on foot before being caught by a police canine.
The other three occupants of the vehicle were arrested when the vehicle came to a stop near Palace Road after police used a tire deflation device.
In the end, the collaborative efforts of the Lennox and Addington, Quinte West and Tyendinaga First Nations OPP detachments as well as the Emergency Response Team and Canine units resulted in four arrests.
As a result 25-year-old Simon Brar and 22-year-old Hisham Kashif of Brampton, 20-year-old Teshay McIntosh of Etobicoke and 19-year-old Ladeja Vizuete of Mississauga were arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
All four were released on undertakings and turned over to Peel Regional Police to continue their investigation.
