The Belleville Senators ran into a wall last night. As in Toronto Marlies goaltender Joseph Woll.
Despite sending a season high 47 shots on goal Belleville came away on the short end of a 5-2 outcome. The B-Sens outshot Toronto 33-14 through the first two periods yet trailed 2-1.
Antti Suomela and Curtis Douglas scored two goals 23 seconds apart mid way in the third to break open the tight game.
Head coach Troy Mann felt his team deserved better.
Scott Sabourin and Roark Chartier scored for the Senators.
Chartier was playing his first game since October 16th when an injury sidelined him for 20 games.
The Marlies have won all three meetings with the B-Sens by identical 5-2 scores.
It was the first of three straight between the North Division rivals. They meet again Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon. Broadcast time for both games is 2:50 on 800 CJBQ.
