“In, in my humble opinion, it really, it didn’t address the biggest economic issue that’s facing all Canadians and that’s the cost of living. Everywhere you go, everyone you talk to, all the emails I’m receiving. People are really not in good shape.”
“Home prices in Canada are 25% higher than they were just, last time this year. So I think this is something, that, is there a quick fix? No. But, our current liberal government has had six years to fix the issue and it’s only gotten worse under their watch. I see the Conservatives putting forward solutions to address the rising cost of homes.”
Kramp Neuman will be advocating for the older population in the coming year.
As the Shadow Minister for seniors, she says they have been one of the hardest hit demographics during the pandemic.
She would like to have conversations about how to deal with social isolation, elder abuse and improving access to palliative care.
“Some of the most productive work, it’s not done during the theatrics of Question Period. It’s done during committees, it’s done during conversations outside of Question Period. And we legitimately can work together. It’s not just, it’s not just talk. And I think that seniors is something that shouldn’t be, it shouldn’t be a political football.”
