Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.
With 30 recoveries since yesterday, there are now 257 active cases.
Public Health is also reporting one new death, the region’s 17th since the start of the pandemic.
The daily dashboard shows nine people are currently in hospital with six in Intensive Care.
There are 20 active outbreaks.
Of Thursday’s new cases, 21 cases are considered fully vaccinated, two partially and 11 are unvaccinated.
Ten cases are located in Belleville, nine in Quinte West, eight in Prince Edward County, three on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and two each in Deseronto and Central Hastings.
First COVID vaccine doses have been given to 85% of the HPE population five years of age and above.
Seventy-eight percent have received two doses.
Third dose booster shots have been given to more 14,200 people over the last month with more than 6,700 of those doses administered over the last seven days.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported three new cases in Northumberland along with 22 active.
