Belleville police are investigating a theft at a business in the city Thursday.
Police were called to a business on Parks Drive for reports of a theft.
The complainant discovered damage to a vehicle that had been parked in the lot overnight and video surveillance footage showed that at approximately 11:45 the night before, a black Chevrolet Cruze was driven into the lot.
Police say the footage shows a man trying unsuccessfully to remove the parked vehicle’s catalytic converter before leaving in the Cruze.
The suspect vehicle is also said to have a steel rim on the front driver side and a hubcap on the rear drivers side.
According to police the suspect was wearing brown bibbed overalls.
