The Salvation Army’s drive-thru breakfast, scheduled for this Saturday, has been cancelled.
Christmas Kettle Coordinator Valerie Hennessey says the current COVID situation locally and a wet, windy weather forecast made them reconsider holding the event.
Hennessey says they would like to organize a similar event in the new year if possible.
Funds for the drive-thru breakfast were to go towards the Christmas Kettle Campaign but Hennessy says even without the event going ahead, the campaign is doing well.
They are almost half way to their $315,000 goal with $153,664.63 raised so far.
The Kettle Campaign runs until December 24 at noon.
