Quinte West is ready to celebrate the holidays.
Several events are planned for this month including the first annual Holiday Home Decor Tour which begins Friday (December 3) and runs through January 2.
Community Engagement Officer Hannah Brown says maps are available on the Quinte West website with physical copies at City Hall.
“Basically, people have submitted their homes to us that they’ve decorated really festively for the holiday season. And, so we provide a map of these, like, fantastic decorated homes for people to tour around Quinte West and see on their own time, on their own schedule in the safety of their own vehicle.”
Pop-ups are also back at Centennial Park for the Holiday Market.
It begins Friday (December 3) and will run on weekends through December 19.
“Free skating every Sunday from 12-1:30 at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens. Santa is gonna be there at different times. Live music, alpacas, reindeer. There’s tons of really cool things going on.”
Brown says staff have worked hard to bring some cheer to the community.
“We know it’s been a hard couple of years, but by bringing these really festive, outdoor events, we think that it hopefully will really lift people’s spirits for this holiday season. Quintewest.ca\holidays has links to everything that you need for a fun and festive holiday season.”
Other holiday offerings in Quinte West include the Holly Jolly Lighting Tour and the Fantasy of Lighting displays in Trenton and Frankford.
