It was a better day as far as new cases of COVID-19 are concerned in Hastings-Prince Edward Thursday.
Public health reports 14 new infections, much lower than the 29 reported Wednesday. With 15 recoveries there are now 149 active cases in the two counties.
The new cases are spread through Quinte West, Belleville, Prince Edward County, and central Hastings County with most of them found in people 18 years old and up.
Twelve of the 14 new cases are in unvaccinated people and two in those that are fully vaccinated.
Four people remain in hospital with one of them in the Intensive Care Unit. The number of declared outbreaks remains at 16.
