“The degree of the vaccination that is in the community and the current regulations that are being applied, including things such as proof of vaccination requirements and different settings. Or organizations that have place vaccine policies incorporated.”
“So we are in a different environment and situation with those components that weren’t previously present. We look to these codings and signifiers speaking to the risk level of circulation. And to that as we follow with these cases in epidemiology we have to consider further public health measures if we continue to see acceleration and continuation of these cases. But it’s going to follow the data on where we are seeing cases and transmission what risk is in these particular settings.”
Toumishey continued t explain, “In addition to consideration of more measures is enforcing the measures that are in place such as these requirements such as screening, because we are seeing people may not be immediately testing because they may not…they say they’re fully vaccinated or just there have been low cases they may not think the symptoms they have are COVID. They’re mild for example. So it’s re-enforcing those requirements and restrictions that are in place and would have an effect on the cases.
Toumishey said there will be expanded testing as now done by the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington public health.
Toumishey said the Omicrom variant has not yet been detected here, but is a “definite possibility.”
