Large wastewater treatment projects make up the lion’s share of a proposed capital spending budget in the Municipality of Brighton.
Brighton council’s Committee of the Whole is recommending a capital budget totalling around $25 million be approved for next year.
The largest investments will be about $11 million for sewer treatment and pumping station upgrades.
Over $4 million would be set aside for roads projects.
Next up for discussion will be Brighton’s operating budget which if approved as proposed would lead to a tax increase to ratepayers of just under 2% next year, including the capital budget.
