Belleville Police Service gave some local women a chance to explore a career in policing Thursday during its Inaugural “Women in Policing” event.
The event was open to women sixteen years and older and provided an opportunity for women interested in policing a chance to learn about the hiring process, the benefits of a career in policing, what to expect from the job and have the opportunity to network with female Belleville Police officers.
The participants also had the opportunity to look at some of the equipment that is used and learn more about it.
Belleville Police called the event an extremely positive experience for all involved and expects to hold similar events in the future.
