Hastings Prince Edward Public Health began administering COVID-19 vaccinations to five to eleven-year-olds on Thursday.
The health unit did not say how many children received their first shot but the number of vaccinations administered will begin to appear on the health unit’s daily dashboard.
Youth clinics will be held around the two counties including the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
Public health officials want to remind the public that there are no walk-in clinics for this age group and appointments must be booked through the provincial booking portal.
The health unit has also created a video for families to watch to help ease some of the apprehension children and parents may be feeling about getting vaccinated.
