There are now 80 active cases of COVID-19 across Hastings and Prince Edward Counties as HPE Public Health reported 16 new cases Tuesday.
One of those cases is a youth between the ages of 5 and 11.
The public health dashboard shows nine of the new cases are unvaccinated, seven fully vaccinated and one partially vaccinated.
Most of the new cases – nine – are located in Belleville with three in Quinte West, two in Prince Edward County and one each in Central Hastings and on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Five people are in hospital, with two in the ICU.
Twenty cases are now attributed to a community outbreak in Trenton linked to several social gatherings.
Ontario reported 613 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday along nine deaths from the virus.
