Belleville’s Police Services Board will discuss high heating and air conditioning costs at its regular meeting Thursday morning.
In a report to the Board, Chief of Police Mike Callaghan says that there is no insulation on the north wall of the newly opened police headquarters on Sidney Street.
The report goes on to say the insulation had been removed on the already existing part of the building some time ago at the request of the former CAO of the City of Belleville.
It’s estimated the cost of insulating the north wall will be at least $300,000.
The Chief is asking the Board to ask city council for financial support to do the work.
