Bancroft OPP are investigating the discovery of human remains in Hastings Highlands Township.
A hunter called police Saturday after locating partial skeletal remains in a wooded area near Boulter Road.
The investigation in ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, the Centre of Forensic Sciences, OPP Forensic Identification Services, and OPP Emergency Response Team.
The identity of the deceased has not been determined.
There is no threat to public safety, although a large police presence can be expected in the area this week as part of the investigation.
