A Belleville restaurant has had its liquor licence suspended for allegedly breaching COVID-19 health protocols.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario is also seeking to revoke Wild Wing Belleville’s licence over alleged Liquor Licence Act infractions requiring the licence holder to carry on business in accordance with the law.
The commission contacted the North Front Street restaurant in September and October to educate and monitor compliance with the Reopening Ontario Act.
In a September 29 conversation, the licence holder indicated she currently does not request vaccine confirmation from patrons, nor does she require them to wear face masks while inside.
Compliance officers from the commission and Hastings Prince Edward Public Health officials visited the restaurant multiple times after that and witnessed continued non-compliance.
The restaurant’s liquor licence was suspended after another visit from a compliance officer on November 9.
