There were 13 new COVID-19 infections and one outbreak declared in Hastings and Prince Edward County Monday.
In a report covering the weekend, Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health said an outbreak at St. Paul Catholic Secondary School in Trenton involving two people was declared Sunday. There are now two active outbreaks in the region.
The number of active cases jumped to 26. There have been five recoveries since Friday’s report.
Of the 13 new COVID cases, seven were in Belleville, three in Quinte West, and three in central Hastings county.
Eight of the people who tested positive were fully vaccinated, four were unvaccinated and one was partially vaccinated.
There were three new cases in Northumberland Monday as reported by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit.
Eight cases are active.
