Belleville police have provided more details surrounding a late morning vehicle rollover that has closed a portion of Old Highway 2.
Police, Belleville fire fighters and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics were called shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday for a single motor vehicle collision west of Mitchell Road on Old Highway 2.
According to police there were four passengers in the vehicle including a 31-year-old woman and three children ages eight, 10 and 12 years old.
Police provided on-scene first aid to the four until paramedics arrived at which point they were rushed to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries.
Later in the day officials with Kingston General Hospital informed police that the victims were in serious but stable condition.
As a result of the incident Old Highway 2 is closed between Point Anne Road and Mitchell Road while police investigate.
Police say the cause of the accident has not been determined and that the road closure is expected to last until approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
