It was almost a carbon copy of Friday night’s game against the Toronto Marlies.
The Belleville Senators lost 5-2 Saturday afternoon in Toronto and lost by the same score Friday in night at home.
And as CJBQ’s Jack Miller said post-game, not only was the score the same in both games the B-Sens had good scoring chances but couldn’t put them away.
Miller also noted that the Marlies insured their wins on both days by scoring three goals in the third period.
The Senators’ David Foot was providing colour commentary on CJBQ’s broadcast and said this was the first truly rough weekend Belleville had experienced so far this season, adding it would be interesting to see how the team reacted, suggesting it might be easy for the younger players to get too frustrated with themselves.
Toronto outshot Belleville 38 to 22. Scoring for Belleville were Mark Kastelic and Jack Lucchini.
The Senators are now two wins and five losses on the season.
The next game for Belleville is Wednesday night in Rochester. CJBQ’s broadcast will begin at 6:55.
