Prince Edward County council is expected to approve funding for seven new lookouts on the Harbour Trail at its meeting Tuesday.
Council will see a staff report recommending they authorize the CAO to sign an agreement with the Canada Community Revitalization Fund Contribution Agreement.
If approved, the county will receive $262,500 in federal funding to revitalize Picton Harbour by putting up seven lookouts on the Harbour Trail.
The county will have to contribute $87,500, or 25%, of the funding for the project.
The staff report says that community consultation indicated a strong desire for more outdoor public spaces for exercise, rest and recreation which is the reason behind the project.
The Canada Community Revitalization Fund is a $500 million federal investment to help communities improve community infrastructure projects to rebound from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
