The Campbellford Rebels made their long-awaited home debut Friday night versus the struggling Frankford Huskies.
The Huskies opened the scoring to take a 1-0 lead in the first period, their first ever lead.
After killing off an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, the Rebels knotted the game at one late in the first with a goal from Charles-Antoine Boucher.
Just over one minute later Benny Scarr scored to make it a 2-1 Rebels lead heading into the intermission.
Campbellford turned it into high gear in the second period with three consecutive goals from Ethan Salter, Dennis Fisher and Aiden Trevorton to make it 5-2.
The Huskies attempted to mount a comeback with two goals of their own but the lead would prove to be too much as the Rebels’ Ben Krajua iced the game with one more goal for a 6-3 Campbellford win.
The teams will renew pleasantries again on Saturday in Campbellford at 7:30 p.m.
