Operation Red Nose is returning to the Quinte region this year.
A team of three Red Nose volunteers will pick you up and drive you in your own vehicle
to the destination of your choice.
to the destination of your choice.
The program was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, but, campaign chair Rick Watt expects more people to be celebrating this holiday season.
“We’ll be running the same way but the hours will be cut different. Instead of taking our last call at 3 a.m., we’ll probably be taking it at 1. And we will be wanting all our volunteers to be double vaccinated, of course. And we will be masked.”
Passengers will also need to wear masks.
Watt says it’s a free service but donations will be accepted with all funds donated.
“We give 75% to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign and 25% to Quinte Sunrise for Camp Trillium.
The first weekend for Operation Red Nose will be November 29 and 30.
It will operate Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in December with the final night being New Year’s Eve.
