There are just two new cases of COVID-19 today in Hastings Prince Edward but two more outbreaks have been declared in local schools.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health says there are 37 active infections and there have been four recoveries since Wednesday.
One of the new cases is fully vaccinated, the other unvaccinated.
One is located in Belleville and the other in Central Hastings.
Two people are in hospital but no one is in the ICU.
The new outbreaks are at Belleville District Christian School where five cases have been reported and VP Carswell Elementary School in Quinte West which has two cases.
There are now five active outbreaks across our two counties, three of them in schools.
The Tyendinaga Public School outbreak is ongoing, however, only two cases have been linked to it.
Vaccination rates continue to creep up.
Eighty-nine percent of local residents aged 12 and over have now had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
Eighty-one percent have received two doses.
