It appears the long legal saga involving a former employee of a local credit union is coming to an end.
Tuesday Cheryll Drumm pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of laundering proceeds of crime.
Drumm, 46 at the time charges were laid, was accused in 2016, along with two others, of stealing over $1 million from their employer Bayshore Credit Union.
Charges against other employees George Misuraca and Allan Lasher were dropped after they agreed to pay civil restitution. They also faced civil suits.
The frauds were committed between 2010 and 2015.
Bayshore Credit Union has since become Quinte First Credit Union.
At a previous trial in October of 2019 Drumm pleaded guilty to similar charges but the judge said she didn’t admit guilt or provide sufficent explanation so Drumm asked for another trial which was granted.
The new trial began Monday. A date for a sentencing hearing will be set December 3.
