Ontario Provincial Police were busy across the province over the Thanksgiving weekend doing their part to keep people safe on the roads through their campaign dubbed Operation Impact.
Northumberland OPP issued 200 traffic-related charges and warnings, targeting aggressive drivers, motorists under the influence of alcohol or drugs, inattentive drivers and people not wearing seat belts.
Speeding topped the list with 138 charges laid.
There were also four stunt driving charges.
Police laid seven seat belt charges, one distracted driving charge and one impaired charge.
Northumberland OPP also responded to six motor vehicle collisions over the long weekend.
