There was just over $6 million worth of building activity started in the City of Belleville in September, a slight increase from a year earlier.
Fifty-five permits were issued last month.
In September 2020, 70 permits were given out but the construction value was less at $5.6 million.
Residential building activity was down last month compared with a year earlier, but there were increases in commercial, industrial and government institutional related construction.
Year-to-date construction value is also up with the city reporting $75.5 million worth of construction through the end of September compared to $68.9 in 2020.
