There were nine new cases of COVID-19 reported Monday in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
Five of the infections were found in people who were not vaccinated, three others had been fully vaccinated and another had only been partially vaccinated.
The Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Unit says there were three new cases in Quinte West, two in Belleville, two in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, and one each in Prince Edward County and central Hastings County.
With 19 recoveries there are now 28 active cases in the two counties.
Three people remain in hospital with two being treated in intensive care.
COVID-19 outbreaks at St. Mary Catholic School and one stemming from a ball game at Bain Park in Trenton have now been declared over.
Eighty percent of people aged 12 and older in Hastings-Prince Edward have been fully vaccinated.
Monday’s report included cases discovered Saturday and Sunday.
Eighty per cent of local residents 12 years of age and over are fully vaccinated while 88 per cent have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
There were zero new cases in Northumberland Monday.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported five active cases.
