A rainy summer is coming to an end.
Staff at the CFB Trenton Weather Office say it’s been an above average year for precipitation, especially in July, through the rest of the summer, and late into this month.
Readings taken at the base show we have already received 155.6 millimetres of rain this September, when the average rainfall for the month is only 80 – 90 millimetres.
The soggy weather is expected to continue through the fall season as well, with Environment Canada forecasting higher than normal temperatures, leading to more rain than we are used to this time of year.
The good news is that experts say a wet summer typically leads to more vibrant fall colours on area trees.
