Building off the success of the summer pop-ups, Quinte West may see a holiday market in Centennial Park, if council approves.
The city’s Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee is recommending the event from December 2 to 19, using the template from the mini pop-ups program and reusing some of those wooden sheds as well.
Staff say they are hoping to find some interested local businesses to showcase their wares and give residents a chance to buy locally for their holiday shopping.
The plan also includes various entertainers, a trio of food trucks and off course, appearances from Santa.
All COVID-related protocols will be followed and staff is proposing to use $11,000 from the existing events budget, to fund the project.
