Despite the pandemic, the first season for pop-up food and retail shops in the City of Quinte West is being hailed a success.
Thousands visited the pop-ups’ location in Centennial Park and a report to Quinte West’s Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee says the businesses involved did well and others are now hoping to be included next year.
One business that started in a pop-up has since opened a permanent shop in the city.
The committee is recommending another three pop-up sheds be added to the current six next season at a cost of $70,000.
Quinte West council will make a final decision on the recommendation.
