With some significant rainfall expected to hit the region over the next few days, both Quinte and Lower Trent Conservation are issuing bulletins.
Quinte Conservation has issued a Water Safety Statement in anticipation of 50-60 mm of precipitation along with high winds across its watershed area starting this evening.
The Conservation says there is a low risk of flooding on larger water systems due to low surface water levels and dry soil conditions while some isolated nuisance flooding is likely around small watercourses, urban areas, and ditches.
Lower Trent Conservation suggests 50-100 mm of rain is possible in its watershed region and has issued a Flood Outlook Statement.
Again some nuisance flooding may occur but with stream flows and levels across the watershed average for this time of year, widespread flooding is not expected.
Residents in all areas are reminded to make sure their sump pumps are in good working condition and to keep children and pets away from waterways.
The advisories from both Conservations are currently in effect until Friday, September 24.
