The man found suffering from a gunshot wound in Trent Hills, south of Havelock, last Thursday has succumbed to his injuries.
Dead is 38-year-old Andrew Brenton Brown of Warkworth.
OPP continue to search for a suspect in the shooting, 18-year-old Zachary Comeau of no fixed address.
Comeau is considered armed and dangerous and OPP ask anyone seeing him not to approach but to call 911 immediately.
The investigation is now considered a homicide.
