There were eight new cases of COVID-19 in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Friday with that number split evenly between unvaccinated and fully vaccinated individuals.
The HPE Public Health dashboard shows there have been three recoveries since yesterday’s report leaving 38 active cases.
There is still no one being treated in hospital.
Three of the new cases are outbreak related, two are due to close contact and the causes of the other three cases are pending.
Four of the cases are in Central Hastings, three in Belleville and one in Quinte West.
There are still three ongoing outbreaks.
Eighty-four per cent of the local population aged 12 and up has received at least one dose of a vaccine with 74% fully vaccinated.
Over the last seven days, 1,159 people rolled up their sleeve for their first shot while 1,841 received their second dose.
In Northumberland Friday, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported three new cases.
Five cases are active.
