Belleville’s planning committee will hold a public meeting Tuesday on a proposal to build a number of small cabins on a property on Bethel Road.
The number of cabins hasn’t been specified yet, but the owner of the property who runs a Christmas tree farm and sugar bush, says the accommodations would be used to promote rural tourism.
City staff have reached out to a number of other groups and stakeholders around the property, including the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. and Quinte Conservation, with no issues being brought up, to this point.
Further input will be gathered during the public meeting, with a final report to come back to the planning committee, before being forwarded on to Council for approval.
