“We start a week earlier, and we finish a week earlier. I guess we just want to get a head start on learning.”
Cité Jeunesse and Marc Garneau School Principal Chantal McAlpine spoke to the Mix morning crew before students began hitting the books Tuesday morning.
L’Envol French Catholic also started classes Tuesday. Around 500 students in total returned. They are one week earlier than ALCDSB and HPEDSB students, who will enter school next Tuesday.
McAlpine says COVID safety measures are in place.
“I feel like we’re experts at all the protocols. Separate entrances for different cohorts, washing your hands when you walk in, of course masks now for kindergarten to grade 12.”
