Improvements being made to Brighton’s Wastewater Pollution Control Plant will ensure it can support the growing municipality in the years to come.
With relatively high residential growth rates compared to other towns of similar size, the municipality is working to ensure adequate infrastructure is available.
In a recent report to council, staff said the existing wastewater plant has an estimated additional capacity of 1,286 residential units or approximately 10 years of growth at current rates of home building activity.
Improvements have been made in recent years to improve the residual hydraulic capacity and additional efforts are well underway that will allow the plant to support the expanding community well beyond the 10-year horizon.
