Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 15 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, 12 of them in unvaccinated individuals.
One case is partially vaccinated and two fully vaccinated.
The health unit dashboard shows nine cases are attributed to close contact and two to local spread with the causes of the other four pending.
Seven of the cases are age 18 and younger.
There have been 16 recoveries since Friday’s report, leaving 38 active cases.
Overall, 74% of the region’s active cases are in unvaccinated individuals with another five percent partially vaccinated.
One outbreak remains active – a workplace in Prince Edward County with 19 cases.
No one is being treated in local hospital at this time.
As far as vaccinations go, 82% of the local population age 12 and older have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
Seventy-one percent are fully vaccinated.
Over the last seven days, 1,240 people rolled up their sleeve for their first shot while 2,868 people received their second dose.
In Northumberland County, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported four new cases Monday.
There are six active cases.
