We have a new high temperature record for an August 22 in the Quinte region.
The mercury climbed to 31 degrees celsius Sunday, one degree higher than the previous record
of 30 degrees set 66 years ago in 1955.
Meanwhile the region remains under a heat warning with the extreme heat and humidity expected to remain until Friday when temperatures are expected to return to more seasonal norms.
